Imagine you want one person to create a VA, another one to take a look at it, and give it their approval.
First, create a workspace, let's call it "Special Workspace" and share it with a particular user, Mr. T, giving him the collaborator role approval requests. (Read here for more information about sharing workspaces).
Next, let's say Mr. T creates a Validation Act in their Personal Workspace and they want their supervisor to approve this VA. Mr. T changes the status of the VA to waiting for approval and moves this VA to "Special Workspace". (Read here for more information about various VA statuses.)
Mr. T has only approval requests collaborator role in "Special Workspace" which means that he can only move VAs which have the status waiting for approval to this workspace, otherwise, he has read-only access to it. This ensures that the user can't change the VA after requesting approval.
In contrast, the supervisor of Mr. T who can approve VAs must have a user or manager collaborator role in the "Special Workspace" so they can modify the VAs in it. Mr. T's supervisor can yield the VA to the next level in your approval hierarchy, or he can simply add a note telling Mr. T what needs to be fixed and move the VA back.
